RANI KI VAV (THE QUEEN’S STEPWELL)

FAMOUS FOR: ITS SIZE AND SCULPTURE
HISTORY: It is a famous stepwell located in
Gujarat. This stepwell is sized more than 64m long, 20m wide, and 27m deep. In
this well there 500 sculptures of God mainly devoted to Vishnu in the form of
10 incarnations of DUS AVATARS:
VISHNU
KALKI
RAMA
MAHISHASURMARDINI
NARSHINH
VAMAN
VARAHI
NAGKANYA
YOGINI
APSARA showcasing 16 different styles of makeup to look more
pleasant. This is known as SHOLA SHRINGAR.
UNESCO declared this site as a world heritage in 2014.
