HISTORY: It’s a cultural mix of religious art of many religions like Buddhism,
Hinduism and Jainism. These caves have
34 monasteries and temples sculpted contiguously into rock walls of a high
basalt cliff and its length up to 2km. These are the creation and artifacts of the ancient civilization of India. In 1983 UNESCO declared these caves as world
heritage sites in India.
